Do I need to have yoga experience to practice? No experience is necessary for TCTSY. Typically the forms I offer during sessions are very accessible and I offer modifications as well.
-
What if I'm not flexible? You do not need to be flexible to practice TCTSY. In this practice we meet our body where we're at, meaning, all bodies are welcome and there's no right or wrong way to practice.
-
Can I practice in a chair?Yes! During the intake process I ask folks if they would like to do some or all of the practice seated.
-
What should I wear?Whatever you like! Anything you feel comfortable and can move in is usually best.
-
Do I need to be in therapy to do TCTSY?No, you do not need to be in therapy currently to practice. I do ask that you have a support person with whom you can talk to and process trauma if needed. For some people this is a therapist, but for others it may be a community or faith-based leader. This is something we also discuss during the intake process.
-
Can I contact you if I need support?I am available for support regarding your TCTSY practice via phone or email. Oftentimes folks will check in with me if they are feeling triggered after a session and we discuss ways to move forward with the practice or determine if additional support is needed. It is outside of my scope of practice to process traumatic memories outside of a TCTSY session which is why having a support person is important.

TESTIMONIALS
"I’m midway through my second series with Greta and it’s challenging to describe the depth of impact these classes have made on me. I’m going through a difficult time in my personal life and have been working through my trauma in various ways, and in each of those ways I’ve been asking how I can ground myself and “snap back” to myself when I’m feeling lost. These yoga classes have effortlessly shown me a path to getting centered. Unfortunately a lot of other methods I’ve tried leave me feeling overwhelmed or triggered or needing to suppress my emotions or physical sensations. With TCTSY, I’m able to make space for all of those things and still participate in the class. I’ve felt a lot of growth in myself and pride in being able to work through all the challenges of being connected with my body again. These are really new feelings for me and I’m very grateful to start to feel some peace. I’m very grateful to Greta as well for creating such a welcoming space and being so genuinely kind and supportive."
